*Tips to navigate the time change*
(Please tell us you sang to that title too. No, just us?)
It’s time to « fall back »: this weekend, we are moving our clocks back one hour. While some lucky people won’t feel a thing, some of us might feel - slightly or not so slightly - discombobulated.
Here are our tips to adjust to the time change:
1.Stick to your schedule
Be consistent with bedtime, eating schedule, social habits, exercise routine. If that is possible, exposing yourself to the bright light in the morning can also help.
2.Get more light!
Speaking of morning light: if you are sensitive to light on Sunday, you might be waking up earlier than anticipated. Embrace it! Go outside and get exposure to morning sunlight - exposure to morning sunlight can help reset and regulate your sleep-wake cycle, not to mention getting in that mighty vitamin D!
3.Cultivate good habits before bedtime
Avoid coffee and caffeinated beverages 4 to 6 hours before bedtime. Avoid alcohol in the evening. If you exercise, avoid intense workouts - yoga, even the more dynamic styles, is a better fit for evening movement.
4.Pamper yourself!
If your body is not adjusting right away to the new plan, don’t stress. Listen to your body’s signals and cues - if you feel like going to be earlier on Sunday, don’t fight it, your body might need it.
If you need to release stress, you can book our « Clear Your Mind » or « Blissful Stress Relief » treatments, and our Gentle or Candlelight yoga classes.
If you need more energy, our « Deep Tissue Muscle Massage » or « Balinese Revitalisation » can help, as well as Vinyasa, Hatha Flow, or Iyengar yoga classes - mindful movement of mild to medium intensity.
How do YOU adjust to time changes? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
